Extreme weather conditions and earthquakes can cause power outages. If there is no power in your neighborhood:
- Turn off all unnecessary appliances and lights. Leave one light on so you know when the power has been restored.
- Never use a portable generator indoors as this can cause carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Use caution when out doors. Watch for downed power lines.
- If you’re driving in a power outage and the traffic lights are not working, treat all intersections as a 4 way stop.
